Rossie House Fire

Rossie, IA (KICD)–A four alarm blaze totalled a home west of Rossie on Wednesday.

Royal Fire Chief Matt Goyette tells KICD News that his crew and Webb Firefighters were paged to 1944 440th street on Wednesday morning and arrived to find smoke showing from the roof on the north side of the building.  Sioux Rapids and Peterson Fire were called on scene for mutual aid and entry was made.  Crews tried to knock down the fire, but the fire had already spread into the attic. Due to the structure type, and vaulted ceilings they vented the roof to try to extinguish the fire, By this time the fire had spread to the entire attic area.

No injures were reported.

The house appears to be a complete loss.
