Peterson, IA (KICD)–The O’Brien County Conservation Board has received approval of a $485,000 REAP grant to help with the acquisition of the Waterman Wildlife Addition.
O’Brien County Naturalist Charlene Elyea tells KICD News that this 134 acre property is located adjacent to the Prairie Heritage Center.
The total purchase price for the Waterman Wildlife Addition is approximately $660,000.
Elyea says they are already utilizing some of the land and they have plenty of ideas in store.
O’Brien county has now received over $2.05 million in grant funding through the state’s Resource Enhancement and Protection program over the past 24 years.
