Peterson House Fire

Peterson, IA (KICD)–A family of seven was displaced after escaping an early Tuesday morning three alarm house fire in Peterson.

Peterson Fire Chief Jeff Zalaznik tells KICD News they were called out to the home of Andy and Jennifer Samson at 329 Elm Street around 4:15 Tuesday morning.

Zalaznik says he called for assistance from the Sioux Rapids and Royal Fire Department before heading to the home. The fire was put out and the investigation was complete around 1:30 Tuesday afternoon. An old style square box fan was the source of the blaze which caused severe damage to the home.

Clothing donations can be dropped off at the Peterson Elevator.
