Cylinder, IA (KICD) — An Emmetsburg man escpaes injuries after an accident.
The Palo Alto County Sheriffs Office responded Wednesday to the accident on Highway 18, northwest of Cylinder. 54-year old Kelly Griffin was driving a 2000 Chevrolet pickup pulling a trailer with a skid loader on it westbound, when the trailer started fishtailing, pushing the pickup into the north ditch.
The unit then jackknifed, causing the trailer to break it’s safety chain and become unhooked from the truck. The skid loader on the trailer received minor damage, while the trailer received approximately $1000 in damage. The pickup was a total loss. Griffin was cited for Driving With An Expired License.
Assisting at the scene was the Cylinder Fire Department.
Graettinger, IA (KICD) — An Armstrong teen was injured in a single vehicle accident.
The Palo Alto County Sheriffs Office said the accident occurred around 3:50 Wednesday afternoon, in the 2900 block of 490th Avenue, in Vernon Township. A 2007 Ford Fusion, driven by 16-year old Michelle Moen was northbound, when she lost control.
The Fusion then entered the east ditch, and rolled striking a power pole, then coming to rest on it’s top. Moen was taken to the Palo Alto County Hospital by ambulance with incapacitating injuries. The Fusion was totalled in the accident, and damage to the power pole was estimated at $1500.
Moen was cited for Failure To Maintain Control. Assisting at the scene was Graettinger Fire Department and Graettinger Ambulance
