Mobile Home Blaze

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–Fire investigators are crediting the use of a “fire suppression grenade” for extinguishing and stopping the spread of a mobile home fire.

The Storm Lake Fire and Police Departments were called to a home at 600A West 8th Street just before 12:30 on Friday afternoon. Police arrived to find the home to be evacuated and the home owner attempting to fight the fire with a garden hose. A “fire suppression grenade” was then thrown through a broken window in an attempt to slow the burning fire until the arrival of the fire department.
