Spencer, IA (KICD)–The 2013 Mainstreet Market is slated to kick off a 5-week run Thursday evening on the Clay County Courthouse Square.
Jim Schooley with the Spencer Alliance for a Creative Economy tells KICD News this is an artists and farmers market with live music.
Schooley says they started booking live music a year ago and will open this Thursday with Chad Elliot.
Many local growers of fresh garden produce will be available and work from local artists will be on display. As in the past, a competition will be held among the artist presenters each evening.
Food vendors will offer a variety of items for market goers to enjoy while they shop and listen to the music. Folks are encouraged to bring their folding chairs and make an evening of it.
Mainstreet Market will take place from 5-8 p.m. the next five Thursdays on the Clay County Courthouse Square.
