Doon, IA (KICD)–A four month drug investigation by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office culminated Wednesday.
51-year-old Douglas Hoppe of Doon was allegedly seen leaving his residence and a traffic stop followed. Evidence of a methamphetamine lab, including anhydrous ammonia was found in the vehicle along with methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. A search of Hoppe’s home turned up more evidence of a methamphetamine lab.
Hoppe was arrested on a class B felony count of meth manufacturing, a class B felony charge of meth possession, a class D felony count of gathering where controlled substances are used, possession of anhydrous, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
A passenger in Hoppe’s car, 35-year-old Dalles Dodge of Sheldon, was charged with class B felony counts of conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession of meth with the intent to deliver and possession of marijuana.
An occupant of the residence, 32-year-old Kathryn Beed of Norfolk, Nebraska, was charged with class B felony counts of conspiracy to manufacture meth and possession of meth with the intent to deliver.
All three subjects were booked into Lyon County Jail.
This is an ongoing investigation and authorities expect to make more arrests in the near future.
