Spencer, IA: A feedlot field day will be held near Marcus on Tuesday that will show how one producer removes excess water from his feedlot in a way that reduces the potential impact on water quality.
The field day will be at the Greg Galles feedlot south of Marcus, starting at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Galles will talk about the costs and benefits of the system, according to Iowa State University Extension Ag Engineer Kris Kohl.
Kohl says visitors will learn about the low-cost pumping system Galles has installed.
Kohl says the Galles feedlot is 4 and a half miles south of the intersection of Highway 3 and County Road 36 south of Marcus.
