Spirit Lake, IA (KICD)–A Des Moines man has been arrested in connection to a number of vehicle burglaries over the past few months in Spirit Lake.

With help from Des Moines Police Spirit Lake Police obtained warrants for 19-year-old Lucas Tassin. A number of the stolen items were recovered .

Tassin is currently being held in Dickinson County jail on a class B felony count of ongoing criminal conduct, a class C felony count of 2nd degree burglary, credit card forgery, and five counts of 3rd degree burglary.

Spencer, IA (KICD)–A wanted Sprit Lake man was taken into custody on Friday.

Clay County Deputies took custody of 19-year-old Andrew Phillips from the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office. He was wanted on a warrant issued by the Spencer Police for second degree theft.

Phillips was transported to the Clay County Jail and held on a $5,000 bond.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Schleswig man was jailed on theft charges Thursday.

In late May Storm Lake Police took a report from an employee at the McDonald’s Restaurant located inside of the Wal-Mart Complex of a theft. It was reported to police by the employee that some person or persons had allegedly stolen $375.00 in cash from her purse at the restaurant.

On Wednesday morning Police took a second report at McDonald’s that alleged that someone had stolen a cash deposit bag from the establishment which contained approximately $1,000.

After investigation 42-year-old Tracy Jacobsen, an employee at McDonald’s, was alleged to be responsible both thefts. During the investigation police report they located and seized approximately $300 from Jacobson’s vehicle.

Jacobsen was booked into Buena Vista County Jail on a class D felony count of 2nd degree theft and 4th degree theft. He was held on a $6,000 cash bond.

Rock Rapids, IA (KICD)–A Rock Rapids man was was charged with assault of a dangerous weapon.

The Lyon County Special Response Team responded to a report of man yielding a sword in an assault Saturday morning. 51-year-old Hiram Meadows was arrested at approximately five after surrendering to surrounding deputies at his home.

Meadows has been charged with one count of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of going armed with intent and is being held in the Lyon County Jail.

Assisting Lyon County Deputies was an officer from the Iowa DNR.

Rock Rapids, IA (KICD)–A Rock Rapids man was arrested on sexual abuse charges following a search warrant.

51-year-old Jeffrey Benson was arrested Thursday following an investigation conducted by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office. The search warrant was executed after incidents occurring at Benson’s home from late May.

Benson was charged with three counts of sexual abuse.
