Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake man was held without bond following a Tuesday afternoon domestic assault.
Responding Storm Lake Police were told that a woman was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend, 22-year-old Todd Sutton, and he had fled from the apartment complex. Police made contact with Sutton and took him into custody without incident. The victim declined medical attention.
The victim told Police that Sutton allegedly assaulted her by grabbing her by the face and shoving her onto a bed at which time he placed his hand over her nose and mouth cutting off her ability to breath. He further stopped her from calling 911. The victim fought free and fled from the apartment at which time she called 911. Police were further advised that when Sutton fled from the apartment he damaged the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment complex.
Sutton was charged with a class D felony count of Domestic Assault / Impeding Airway, Obstruction of Emergency Communication, and Criminal Mischief 5th Degree. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–Felony charges were filed following a domestic assault.
At approximately 12:38 Monday morning Storm Lake Police were called to an apartment where they encountered 32-year-old Vincent Nichols of Storm Lake. Nichols allegedly fought with officers at the front door of the apartment and a police officer sustained a minor injury in the altercation.
The reporting party told police that she was Nichols’ girlfriend and she walked in the apartment bedroom and observed Nichols allegedly sexually assaulting another adult female who was passed out in the bed from alcohol consumption. When she confronted Nichols he physically assaulted her by striking her, choking her, and not allowing her to leave the apartment. Nichols then reportedly struck the reporting party and knocked her unconscious. When the reporting party regained consciousness she was able to escape from the apartment and ran to the Hy-Vee Store on North Lake Avenue where she called 911.
Buena Vista County Paramedics responded to the scene and treated both female victims. Neither was transported to the medical center. The injured police officer was treated at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for a minor injury and was released.
Following an investigation police charged Nichols with a class C felony of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse, a a class D felony count of Domestic Assault – Strangulation Causing Bodily Harm, Interference With Official Acts Causing Injury, and False Imprisonment. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.
Orange City, IA (KICD)–A Sioux City man was arrested following a Sunday visit to an inmate incarcerated at the Sioux County Jail.
26-year-old Cody Matney was pulled over after leaving the jail following a report that his driver’s license was possibly suspended and his vehicle registration expired. Meth and drug paraphernalia was located in the car during the stop.
In addition to the drug possession driving with a suspended license charges Matney was cited for no SR-22 insurance, expired registration and failure to have required financial liability insurance for his vehicle.
Sioux Center, IA (KICD)–A Sioux Center man was arrested following an in car assault at the the intersection of Highway 10 and Highway 75 this weekend.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Steven Partridge was a passenger in a vehicle and became involved in a dispute and assaulted another
passenger of the vehicle. Following the assault, the vehicle and occupants drove to a residence in SiouxCenter. The victim was transported by private vehicle later that same morning to the Sioux Center Hospital where they sought medical attention for their injuries caused by the assault. The victim was released a short time later.
Partridge was arrested for assault on Tuesday. Sioux Center Police assisted.
