Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)–A Sheldon man was arrested for stealing a car on Saturday.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen 2008 Toyota Tundra in Emmetsburg that was missing for about an hour. After entering the car into the National Crime Information Center Database it was found that Spencer Police recovered the car following a pursuit that ended with an accident.

36-year-old Brandon Theison was arrested and placed into Clay County jail. Warrants were also issued for a class D felony count of theft of a motor vehicle and operating a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent.

Emmetsburg Police assisted with the investigation.

Everly, IA (KICD)–An Everly man was booked into Clay County jail this weekend.

Last Sunday Clay County Deputies were called to a domestic disturbance. It is alleged that 32-year-old Nathaniel Wolthuis assaulted his girlfriend and his father and left the home while having a suspended license.

A Clay County Deputy met with Wolthuis early Saturday morning and he was charged with a class D felony count of Domestic Abuse Assault 3rd Offense, Assault, and Driving Under Suspension. Wolthuis was held to appear before the Magistrate.

Spencer, IA (KICD)–Drug charges were levied against a Des Moines man following a Friday afternoon traffic stop by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

56-year-old Michael Franker consented to a vehicle search for illegal items. Franker was then charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance. He was also cited for passing within an intersection.

Franker was held in Clay County jail on a $1,000 bond.
