Spencer, IA (KICD)–Major injuries were avoided in a car versus semi accident on Friday morning.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 85-year-old Frances Payne of Milford was traveling south in the 2700 mile of Highway 71 at 9:50 a.m. in a 2007 Pontiac G-6. At this time 64-year-old Robert Schoorman of Everly crossed in front of Payne on 280th Street in a 2005 International semi-truck and trailer. The vehicles collided at the intersection.
Frances was taken to the Spencer Hospital for treatment and released. Schoorman was cited for failure to obey a stop or yield sign.
Agencies assisting on scene include the Iowa State Patrol, Fostoria Fire and Rescue, Spencer Fire Department, and Spencer EMT’s.
Spencer, IA (KICD)–An upset inmate has been charged for damaging a TV.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 45-year-old Christopher Wood of Webb threw a waste basket at a television and damaged the screen.Wood was charged with 4th degree criminal mischief and held to appear before the magistrate.
