Spencer, IA (KICD)–Minor injuries were reported following a one van rollover Tuesday afternoon.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office reports that 61-year-old Mark Vandehaar of Spencer was traveling north in the 3600 mile of County Road M-38 just before 5:00 p.m. He lost control due to slick road condition and rolled his 2006 Ford F-250 van onto its roof in the west ditch..
Sheldon, IA (KICD) — A Sheldon teen was injured after an accident involving his vehicle and a combine.
The O’Brien County Sheriffs Office said the accident happened shortly before 6 Monday evening, on 330th Avenue. 19-year old Bradley Zybarth wsa eastbound in a 1994 Dodge, and approached a bridge, and stopped a safe distance from the bridge, to allow a westbound 2113 John Deere combine, driven by as 61-year old Warren Anderson, of Spirit Lake to cross.
As the combine continued westbound, Anderson failed to yield half the road, resulting in the combine striking the Dodge, with the outside dual wheel driving up over the hood before coming to a stop.
Zybarth received minor injuries in the accident, whileAnderson was not injured. The Dodge received $2000 in damage, and was totalled in the accident, while the combine was not damaged. Anderson was charged with Failure To Yield Half the Roadway When Meeting A Vehicle.
Wallingford, IA (KICD) — A two vehicle accident in icy road conditions injures an Algona woman.
The Emmet County Sheriffs Office said the accident occurred just before 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, in the 2500 block of Highway 4, south of Wallingford. 71-year old Sandra Jones was northbound in a 2006 ford Focus, when she lost control of the vehicle on the icy roadway, resulting in the vehicle sliding sideways into the southbound lane.
The Focus then collided with a southbound 2004 Toyota Sienna, driven by 44-year old Amie Kramer-Devereaux, of Pomeroy. The Focus spun 180 degrees, coming to rest on the east shoulder, while the Toyota wound up in the west ditch.
Jones was transported to Avera Holy Family Hospital by the Estherville Ambulance, with non-incapacitating injuries. Kramer-Devereaux was not injured. Both Vehicles were totalled in the accident.
Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–An arrest has been made in connection to series of residential burglaries at apartment buildings in Storm Lake over the past week and a half.
On Tuesday an alert employee at a local jewelry store identified some pawned items as stolen property. 50-year-old Robert Fry of Lytton was then identified as a suspect. An investigation determined that Fry has a lengthy criminal history in Illinois and Iowa and that he also had access to and drove a vehicle that matched the suspect vehicle’s description.
On Tuesday night a search warrant was executed at Fry’s home with help from Sac County Deputies. Possible burglary tools, jewelry, and clothing were found and seized.
Fry has been charged with a class B felony count of ongoing criminal conduct, a class C felony charge of 2nd degree burglary, 4 class D felony counts of 3rd degree burglary, and 2 counts of 3rd degree attempted burglary. Fry was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $59,000 cash bond.
