Webb, IA (KICD)–A Greenville teen escaped a Sunday afternoon accident with minor injuries.
The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says a 17-year-old female was traveling west in the 2600 mile of 430th Street in the 2:00 hour. She entered the intersection of 430th St. and 260th Avenue and hit a bump and patch of loose gravel which caused her 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix to fishtail. The driver attempted to correct the fishtailing and overcorrected causing her to lose control. enter the north ditch, and roll onto the car’s top.
Webb Fire and Rescue and the Spencer Hospital assisted on scene.
Marcus, IA (KICD)–Charges are pending following a weekend accident at the Cherokee/Plymouth County line.
Plymouth County Deputies were called out to 160th Street shortly after 3:30 Saturday morning. It appears that 31-year-old Ryan Arens of Marcus struck a guard rail and entered the creak area with a 2002 Ford F-150. The pickup struck the east bank and rolled onto the passenger side before coming to a rest. There was noticeable blood on the vehicle and roadway.
Authorities could not make immediate contact with Arens, who was brought to his parents house by the pickup’s owner. Arens later admitted to driving the truck and had cuts on his eye, back, and hand, cracked or bruised ribs, and bruising on his thighs. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
Arens said he swerved to miss a deer but there were no marking to match his statement. Arens also admitted to drinking but said he did not feel the effects of the alcohol. Since he fled the scene his sobriety could not be confirmed.
Spencer, IA (KICD)–A reward is being offered by the Clay County Crimestopper’s for information leading to an arrest of those responsible for criminal mischief to a Case IH MX 200 farm tractor.
The complainant reported the driver side and the passenger side windows were broken out sometime last Thursday or Friday at 2570 420th Street. Damage was estimated to be approximately $3,500 to $5,000.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–Storm Lake Police are asking the community’s assistance in solving a series of burglaries and attempted burglaries at apartment buildings in the city.
A burglary was reported at 209 East Lakeshore Drive #4 on October 26th with cash stolen.
On October 28 an attempted burglary was reported at 605 Chautauqua Park #2 with cash taken from apartment #1.
On November 1st a burglary was reported at 1522 West 5th Street #1 where jewelry and cash were stolen from the apartment. Also on Friday an attempted burglary was reported at 1809 West 5th Street #4.
A suspicious person was seen at the 1809 West 5th Street address described as a white male, late 20’s to early 30’s carrying loose paper. The person was wearing a dark jacket and white ball cap. The person was walking the halls of the complex and departed in what is described as a dark blue sedan, possibly a Buick. Police are unsure if this person is involved in any of the burglary incidents. The incidents appear to be occurring during the daytime and early evening hours.
Storm Lake Police are asking anyone with information or who comes across suspicious persons or activity in or near their residential complexes to contact Police immediately.
