Round Lake Man Arrested

Spencer, IA (KICD) — A Round Lake man is jailed on drug related charges.

On Tuesday a Clay County Deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1900 mile of 360th St. The vehicle pulled into the residence driveway at 1940 360th St and two  subjects got out of the vehicle and begun to walk away. The Deputy was able to order both men back into the vehicle.

The driver was 53-year old Jeffrey Kruger and the passenger was Harvey Kruger, both of Round Lake, MN. Jeffrey Kruger was arrested for not having a valid driver’s license. After further investigation a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia was located in the vehicle. Jeffrey Kruger was taken to the Clay County jail and charged with Possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and no valid driver’s license. Harvey Kruger was released with no charges. Jeffrey Kruger was held on a $2000 bond.


Highway 18 Wreck

Spencer, IA (KICD) — A Peterson man receives minor injuries after a single vehicle accident.

The Clay County Sheriffs Office said the accident occurred shortly after 2 last Friday afternoon, in the 2500 mile of Highway 18.  63-year old Stewart Fern was westbound in a 1987 Olds Cutlass, when he drove onto the north shoulder.

Fern overcorrected then lost control of the vehicle, entering the south ditch andnearly entering the river.  he was arrested under suspicion of driving while intoxicated, and was taken into custody.

He was then charged with OWI and Failure To Maintain Control, and placed in the Clay County Jail..   Dickens Rescue assisted at the scene.
