Everly, IA (KICD)–An intoxicated Everly man was taken to the hospital following an early Sunday morning accident.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Everly Fire and Rescue, and Spencer Hospital Paramedics were dispatched to 2950 150th Ave for a victim of a traffic accident at approximately 2:00 a.m. 55-year-old Blaine Erick was found to be very intoxicated and injured. His 2005 Chevy K-2500 truck was located totalled in the ditch in the 3100 mile of 150th Ave.

Erick was transported to Spencer Hospital by Spencer Hospital Ambulance with incapacitating injuries.

Charges are pending the return of test results.

Lake Park, IA (KICD)–A wanted felon was apprehended by Lake Park Police on Thursday.

Acting with the Iowa Department of Probation, Lake Park Police and DIckinson County Deputies, 30-year-old John Toombs was arrested for probation violations.

A search of Toombs’ home turned up a .380 semi automatic pistol, a Mossberg 20 gauge shotgun, and roughly 300 rounds of ammunition. Toombs was then charged with two class D felony counts of felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Toombs was booked into the Dickinson County jail and held without bond. The ATF has been contacted so that Hoover can be charged federally for the weapons violations.

Spencer, IA (KICD)-Drug charges were levied against a Pocahontas man following an early Sunday morning traffic stop by a Clay County Deputy.

The Deputy spotted drug paraphernalia at which time 60-year-old Robert Kleen admitted he had a container of marijuana. An open can of beer was found in the vehicle as well.

Kleen was charged with Possession of Marijuana,Drug Paraphernalia and having an Open Container.

Spencer, IA (KICD)–A Lakefield man was jailed after attempting to climb the barricades from the bleachers to get down to the front row standing area of Sunday night’s grandstand concert at the Clay County Fair.

Upon investigation by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and Spencer Police it was found that 28-year-old Zachary Kemp was very intoxicated and was placed under arrest.

Kemp was charged with public Intoxication and booked into Clay County jail without incident.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake woman was jailed after her 2 and 4-year-old boys were found wandering around alone.

Police arrived on scene and found the 2-year-old standing a few yards from the roadway. Police took the child into protective custody and checked the apartment complex for the parents of the child. While checking the apartments police reportedly located the 4-year-old wandering the hallways of the apartment complex alone. That child was also taken into protective custody.

It is alleged that 21-year-old Mireya Soria was taking a shower and was unaware that the children left the apartment. Reports to police reflected the children were outside for at least 15 minutes.

Following an investigation Storm Lake Police arrested Soria and charged her with Child Endangerment. She was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond.

The two children were unharmed and were released to family members.
