Algona, IA (KICD)–Two were injured following an SUV versus semi truck accident in Kossuth County on Thursday.

The Iowa State Patrol says 33-year-old Daniel Morphew of Ringsted was turning from Highway 18 westbound into a driveway at 10:40 a.m. in a 2013 GMC Terrain SUV. 50-year-old Andrew Hall was heading east on 18 in a semi pulling an empty concrete tank trailer. Morphew failed to yield and the semi struck his vehicle in the center of the passengers side. The SUV came to rest upright facing north in the south ditch. The semi came to rest upright facing east in the south ditch.

Morphew was taken to Kossuth Regional Hospital by their ambulance crew with incapacitating injuries. He was cited for failure to yield. Hall sustained non-incapacitating injuries and was not taken to the hospital.

Rock Rapids, IA (KICD)–Felony sex abuse charges have been filed against a Sioux Falls man.

22-year-old Kevin Jager allegedly committed several sex acts with a fifteen year-old victim in July, when he lived in Rock Rapids. After investigation he was booked into the Lyon County Jail on five class C felony counts of 3rd Degree Sexual Abuse.

Jager is being held in the Lyon County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.

Spencer, IA (KICD)–A Clay County Jail inmate was served with a warrant on Tuesday on an original charges of 3rd degree burglary.

23-year-old Cameron Shuck of Spencer was served the warrant and turned over to jail staff for booking. He also allegedly exposed himself to jail staff on Tuesday and was charged with indecent exposure.

Shuck’s total bond was set at $11,000.

Rock Valley, IA (KICD)–Additional arrests have stemmed from an investigation into the incident of burglary that occurred two weeks ago at Post Equipment Corporation near Rock Valley.

Upon further investigation, Sioux County deputies determined that several additional incidents of burglary occurred in January, February and early August.

20-year-old Drew Kersten of Sheldon, 18-year-old Jasmine Prellwitz of Spencer, 18-year-old Angie Padilla of Hawarden, and a 17-year-old male from Boyden were arrested for 3rd degree burglary and 3rd degree theft in connection to the investigation.

Orange City, IA (KICD)–Authorities are investigation some vandalism to a corn field, located on 400th Street, three miles northeast of Orange City.

The incident likely took place during the overnight hours Friday or early morning hours of Saturday. It discovered that a vehicle had entered the cornfield at 400th Street and exited the field one mile south on 410th Street. The vehicle traveled an estimated two miles throughout the field before leaving the area.The corn sustained approximately $1,500 in damages.

Hospers, IA (KICD)–A Hospers man has been jailed in connection to a Saturday morning assault.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office alleged that 74-year-old John Solsma went to a victim’s residence east of Hospers. While at the residence Solsma assaulted and threatened to cause further bodily harm to the victim.

Solsma was arrested Monday for 1st degree harassment, 3rd degree assault and interference with official acts/resisting arrest.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–Two men were jailed early Sunday morning for fighting at Malarky’s Night Club in Storm Lake.

Police made contact with 27-year-old William Reyes of Alta who allegedly instigated the fight. He was arrested and charged with Public Intoxication 3rd Offense and Disorderly Conduct and held in the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,300 cash bond.

While dealing with Reyes police allege that 25-year-old Luis Trejo of Storm Lake, allegedly interfered with officers and argued with police over Reyes’s arrest.

Police arrested Trejo and charged him with Public Intoxication 2nd Offense. He was booked into the county jail on a $1,000 cash bond.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–An unruly bar patron was arrested early Sunday morning.

The Storm Lake Police Department was conducting a bar check at Malarky’s Night Club when they observed security personnel removing 19-year-old Daniel Flores from the club. He had allegedly wandered into a restricted area in the night club and refused to leave after being told to.

Following an investigation police arrested Flores and transported him to the Buena Vista County Jail where police allege Flores struggled with officers but was subdued and placed in a cell.

Police charged Flores with Criminal Trespass, Interference With Official Acts, and Public Intoxication 2nd Offense. He was booked in on a $1,600 cash bond.
