Fostoria, IA (KICD)–Drug charges were levied against a Milford man following a Wednesday traffic stop in Fostoria.

29-year-old Brady Glover was stopped for speeding at 5:00 p.m. by a Clay County Deputy who believed he saw an illegal substance on Glover.

After investigation Glover was charged with possession of marijuana and cited for speeding. He posted a $1,000 bond and was released.

Spencer, IA (KICD)–Four 18-year-old women from Spencer were arrested after the Clay County Sheriff’s Office looked into a complaint of vandalism at 2705 390th St in rural Clay County.

A structure was found to be vandalized with numerous items of vulgar and offensive graffiti on Tuesday night. Following investigation Shelby Meyer, Briana Dandy, Madison DeVlaeminck, and Taylor Small were each charged with 5th Degree Criminal Mischief and Criminal Trespass.

All four were booked into the Clay County Jail by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and released after posting bond.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–The Storm Lake Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance in solving a burglary and attempted arson at a local business.

On Thursday afternoon at approximately 1:30 p.m. Police were dispatched to Los Portales, a new restaurant preparing to open at 504 Erie Street.

The reporting party said that sometime between 9:30pm on Wednesday and 8:00am on Thursday a person or persons entered the business through a window. While inside they started several fires which apparently burned themselves out with no substantial damage. In addition the suspects reportedly stole two boxes of ceramic plates and some tools. Damage to the business is estimated at $500.00.

Police processed the scene and an investigation is underway.
A cash reward is being offered by Police to anyone with information that leads to the arrest of conviction of those responsible for the burglary to Los Portales.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A 5-year-old playing with a lighter causes a scare in Storm Lake on Thursday night.

Storm Lake Fire and Police were called out to 615 Ontario Street shortly after 6:30. It was determined that a fire had occurred in a closet of an upstairs apartment. All of the occupants of the structure had been evacuated.

Fire Fighters entered the upstairs apartment and observed that the fire had been extinguished in the closet by the property owner.

A fire investigator attempting to determine the cause of the fire located evidence that the blaze was suspicious in nature. An investigation by the police alleges that a 5-year-old child playing with a lighter was the cause of the fire.

No charges were filed due to the child’s age. A report has been filed with the Iowa Department of Human Services.

There were no injuries.Damage to the residence is estimated at $250.

Fire and police were on scene for approximately one hour.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A wanted Aurelia man was apprehended Thursday evening at La Juanita’s in Storm Lake.

50-year-old James Thompson was wanted out of Pocahontas County for 3rd Degree Burglary, Assault on a Peace Officer and Operation Without Owner’s Consent. He was arrested by Storm Lake Police

Thompson was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond awaiting transfer to the Pocahontas County Jail.
