Sanborn, IA (KICD)–Two people were injured following a Saturday evening collision involving a motor home and a car.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office says 47-year-old Grady Peterson of Fulda was heading north in the 3200 mile of Redwing Ave in a 1979 Mobile Traveler motor home just before 9:00 p.m. Peterson stopped at the stop sign at Redwing & 320th street. He continued north across 320th street and a westbound 2000 Dodge Neon driven by 17-year-old Bradey Hinken of Sheldon struck the rear of the motor home. The motor home rolled over on its left side and came to a rest. Hinken’s car slid and came to a stop facing eastbound in the opposite direction.

Both drivers were taken to the Sheldon Hospital with unknown injuries. Peterson was charged with Failure to have valid driver’s license, failure to obey stop sign and violation of Financial liability-accident.

Agencies assisting include the Sanborn Police Department, Primghar, Sanborn & Sheldon ambulance crews and Sanborn Fire & Rescue.

Alta, IA (KICD) — Additional charges are filed against one of two teens in a burglary case.

The Buena Vista County Sheriffs Office said the investigation into the recent arrest of the two 15-year olds charged with two counts of 3rd degree burglary. the continued investigation also has cleared up recent vandalisms involving spray painting of a car, a road sign, and a trailer house at 106 Leander Street in Alta.

A search of the residence at 117 Leander Street turned up electronic items which were stolen from seperate vehicles in Sioux Falls. As a result, one of the male juveniles has been additionally charged with one count of \possession of stolen property in the 4th degree, 4th degree criminal mischief, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Spencer, IA (KICD)–A Sioux Rapids man faces a number of charges following a Sunday traffic stop.

A Clay County Deputy stopped 29-year-old San Juan Castro around 5:00 p.m. for an equipment violation. A check of Castro’s driver’s license showed he is required to have an ignition interlock device installed on his vehicle. The vehicle Castro was driving did not have an interlock installed. Castro’s license is revoked for failure to have this device.

During an inventory of the vehicle a small amount of marijuana was located along with drug paraphernalia. Castro was arrested for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, driving while revoked and failure to have insurance. Castro was taken to the Buena Vista County jail to be held for Clay County.
A female passenger, Amber Scott, had an active warrant out of O’ brien County and was taken into custody. Scott was transported to the Obrien County line and released to a Deputy

Boyden, IA (KICD)–Two for Hull were arrested after going to a home in Boyden with a weapon with the intention of inflicting bodily harm to the resident on Sunday morning.

Following investigation 20-year-old Arturo Tapia and 16-year-old male were charged. Tapia was arrested for going armed with intent to inflict bodily injury, 3rd degree burglary, aggravated assault and underage possession of alcohol.

The teen was cited for going armed with intent to inflict bodily injury, 3rd degree burglary and aggravated assault.

Both juveniles were referred to to juvenile court. The investigation is continuing.
