Spirit Lake, IA (KICD) — 3 people were injured in a motorcycle accident.

Around 2:30 Sunday afternoon, the Dickinson County Sheriffs Office investigated the three motorcycle accident that occurred on Highway 9 at the intersection with 270th Avenue.

The three motorcycles were westbound on Highway 9 in a group. The lead motorcycle was intending to turn south onto 270 Ave. The other two motorcycle drivers failed to see the lead bike was turning. As a result, the two following motorcycles collided with the lead cycle.

55-year old Galen Krogman of Lismore received incapacitating injuries and was transported to Lakes Regional healthcare by ambulance. 51-year old Gerald Lacour of Worthington and 20-year old Eli Lacour of Worthington both received non-incapacitating injuries andwere treated and released on scene.

Lacour was cited for Failure To Stop Within an Assured Clear distance.

Assisting at the scene was Spirit Lake Police, Arnolds Park Police, Spirit Lake Ambulance, and Spirit Lake First Responders.

Sprit Lake, IA (KICD)–Two Spirit Lake Police Officers were injured following a Saturday evening altercation with a two Spirit Lake men.

Police were called out to the 3400 block of Keokuk Avenue at 11:39 p.m. A scuffle ensued with one officer taken to Lakes Regional Healthcare after suffering a laceration to his head and another seeking their own medical treatment at a later time. Both were treated and released.

30-year-olds Corey Hanson and Eric Hanson were both charged with assault on a peace officer and interference with official acts. Corey Hanson’s interference with official acts was a class D felony and he was also charged with a class D felony count of willful injury and disorderly conduct. Both men were booked into Dickinson County jail.

Others assisting on scene include Arnolds Park and Okoboji Police, the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, and the Iowa DNR.

Ruthven, IA (KICD)–Three individuals who allegedly stole $250,000 worth of silver. gold, and other items in Marshalltown were arrested in Ruthven on Saturday.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office received an anonymous tip that the three wanted people; Giles Glark of Marshalltown, Christopher Mason of Le Grand, and Ranae Mason of Le Grand were living in Ruthven. Deputies, Palo Alto County Conservation, and the Iowa DCI executed a search warrant and took all three into custody.

Mason was charged out of Marshal County with a class B felony count of ongoing criminal conduct, a class C felony charge of 1st degree theft, class D felony charges of 3rd degree burglary and conspiracy and possession drug paraphernalia. Bond for those charges was set at $55,000. Palo Alto County charges filed against Mason include a class C felony count of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia He was booked into Palo Alto County jail on a $25,000 bond.

Clark violated his probation and was charged out of Marshall County with ongoing criminal conduct, 3rd degree burglary, a class C felony count of conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance. His bond was set at $47,000.

Marshall County’s warrant for Mason was for possession of stolen property. Bond was set at $2,000.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake teen was arrest over the weekend for ordering $1,000 of clothing on-line.

THe reporting part told Storm Lake Police that their 14-year-old niece Seevily Oupachak had been staying at their residence during the month of June and early July when she took the card and used it.

After questioning Oupachak was charged with a class D felony count of Unlawful Use of a Credit Card. She was processed and released to a family member pending a court date.

The case has been forwarded to the Juvenile Court Authority.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A stolen vehicle report led to the arrest of a Storm Lake man on Saturday night.

Upon arrival of Storm Lake Police they spoke with the reporting party who said that 20-year-old Danian Romero Irias had allegedly been drinking heavily at the residence. He told the reporting party that he wanted to use her vehicle and she stated no. He then grabbed the keys from her hand and departed in the car. While police were still on location Romero Irias reportedly returned in the vehicle driving in a reckless manner.

Police arrested Romero Irias on charges of Operation Without Owners Consent, OWI 2nd Offense,Reckless Driving, and Driving While Suspended. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $4,600 cash bond.

Fort Dodge, IA (KICD)–A Fort Dodge woman has been arrested for forging stolen checks.

Storm Lake Police allege that 19-year-old Danica Mosley, formerly of Storm Lake, obtained several stolen checks from multiple victims in Storm Lake and in Fort Dodge where she forged and cashed the checks. It is alleged that she received in excess of $1,300 from five separate victims.
Following an investigation Storm Lake Police issued arrest warrants for Mosley charging her with a class B felony count of Ongoing Criminal Conduct, three class D felony counts of Forgery and four counts of 4th Degree Theft. On Saturday morning it was learned she was arrested in Fort Dodge on the warrants.

Mosley was returned to Storm Lake and booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $36,000 cash bond.
