Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)–A Texas man was taken to the Mason City hospital after a motorcycle accident on Tuesday.

58-year-old Bruce Fox was driving a 1987 BMW motorcycle southbound on 560th Avenue when he lost control. Fox was transported to the Palo Alto County Hospital and later taken to the Mason City Hospital for treatment of injuries.

Fox was issued a citation for failure to maintain control. Fenton ambulance assisted the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office on scene.

Estherville, IA (KICD)–An early Tuesday morning accident sends three people to the hospital.

According to authorities, 19-year-old Danielle Rizor of Ringsted was driving a 2004 Volkswagon Jetta westbound on 130th street, northwest of Estherville. Just after 2:30, she swerved to miss a deer and lost control in the eastbound lane vaulting a field approach and leaving the roadway.

A passenger, 22-year-old Steven Hatland of Dolliver had to be extricated from the vehicle using the “Jaws of Life.”

Rizor, Hatland, and 15-year-old Megan Triggs of Estherville were taken to Avera Hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Agencies assisting were Estherville Fire and Ambulance.

The investigation for this accident is ongoing.

Emmetsburg, IA (KICD)–Four men face charges in connection to the theft of copper from Palo Alto County field irrigation pits.

Following a lengthy investigation by the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office with help from the Humboldt County Sheriff arrest warrants have been obtained.

30-year-old Tyler Tinken of Clarion, 40-year-old Ricky Habben of Palmer, and 48-year-old Daniel Reames of Hardy each face two class C felony counts of 1st degree theft, and one class D felony count each of 2nd degree theft and 3rd degree burglary. Bond for each of the three men was set at $40,000 cash or surety. 36-year-old Nelson Troyer of Bode faces one count of 2nd degree theft. His bond was set at $10,000.
