Ayrshire, IA (KICD)–One from Ayrshire was injured while traveling through his driveway.

At approximately 7:45 Saturday night Clinton Bailey approached a curve in his driveway and lost control. Bailey’s 2004 Ford Explorer them slid into a tree.

Bailey was taken to Palo Alto County Hospital by private vehicle to be treated for possible injuries.

Rock Rapids, IA (KICD)–A Rock Rapids man has been arrested after growing marijuana plants in his basement.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s office and an Iowa DNR officer searched the residence of 28-year-old Adam Anderson Friday. He was accused of committing several thefts of scrap metals from a salvage yard.

Following an investigation, Anderson was charged with 2nd degree theft, manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Manning has man turned himself in for attempting to redeem a fake lottery ticket worth $20,000.

Storm Lake Police say 45-year-old Daren Danielson had come into the Storm Lake Lottery Office on July 11th and and attempted to redeem a $20,000 winning Lottery scratch ticket. Lottery Officials determined the ticket was a non-winning fraudulently altered ticket. There was no pay out and the ticket was forwarded to the Lottery Security Division.

Danielson was booked into Buena Vista County jail Saturday on a class D felony charge of Lottery Ticket Forgery.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A report of two men fighting in a vehicle ends with an OWI accident.

Storm Lake Police were called out at approximately 6:16 a.m. and could not locate any subjects fighting but observed an SUV leaving north bound in the alley fleeing from the area. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle as it turned south bound in the alley between Superior and Russell. The vehicle stopped only after it struck a parked vehicle in the 600 block of Russell Street, and then a gas meter located near Joyce’s Greenery, 721 E 5th Street. Alliant Energy and the Storm Lake Fire Department were dispatched to the scene in regards to the gas meter, which was later deemed safe.

The driver, 23-year-old Kaylor Phillip of Storm Lake, was determined to be intoxicated, and was charged with OWI 1st Offense, Striking a fixtures, and No Insurance. He was held in Buena Vista County jail on a $1,600 bond.

The passenger, 25-year-old Michael Neior of Storm Lake, was determined to be intoxicated and was charged with Public Intoxication. He was held on a $300 bond.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake man wanted for forgery is caught with a forged check.

On Friday afternoon a search warrant was executed at the home of 23-year-old Howard Young. Storm Lake Police officers located in Young’s wallet, a check issued to him for $300. The check was later confirmed to be forged.

Young was transported to the Buena Vista County Jail where he was booked and held in lieu of a $5,000 bond on a class D felony count of forgery.
