Pocahontas, IA (KICD)–A rural Laurens man was taken into custody after investigation into a pair of sexual assaults involving a 15-year-old from Pocahontas County.

Sheriff Bob Lampe says they arrested 37-year-old Terry Teepe last Saturday on two counts each of lascivious acts with a child and 3rd degree sexual abuse.

Teepe, who is currently a registered sex offender, was held in Pocahontas County jail on a $40,000 bond.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–Storm Lake Police were called to a report of a man threatening to kill a woman while standing in the front yard of her home on Sunday night.

24-year-old Ashanti Jenkins refused to remove his hand from clothing and upon being arrested allegedly resisted and fought with officers. He was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana upon being taken into custody.

The reporting party told Police that she and Jenkins were engaged in an argument over the use of illegal drugs at which time the victim told Jenkins he would have to leave. Jenkins allegedly threatened to kill the victim and burn her car. In addition he grabbed the victim and choked her up against a wall. She was able to get away and call for the police.

Jenkins was booked into Buena Vista County Jail on charges of 1st Degree Harassment, Domestic Assault Strangulation, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Criminal Trespass and Interference With Official Acts. He was held without bond.

Jenkins received minor injuries during his fight with police. The victim refused medical treatment. No officers reported injuries.

Three young children were in the home during the assault. None of the children were injured. A report was made to the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Estherville, IA (KICD)–Estherville Firefighters were called out Sunday morning.

Staff arrived on scene shortly before 7:00 at 16 Alexander Road. The homeowners had most of the fire out and firefighters performed overhaul and evacuated the smoke out of the house. The were on scene for about an hour.

The house is owned and occupied by Bob & Paulette Graff. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Estherville Police and Ambulance assisted on scene.

Orange City, IA (KICD)–An Orange City woman was taken to the hospital following a Friday evening accident.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office says 20-year-old Gabriel Doornink of Orange City was driving a 1998 GMC Sierra eastbound on 410th Street approaching the stop sign at Jackson Avenue at 6:00 p.m. 75-year-old Roger De Haan of Orange City was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox northbound on Jackson Avenue. Doornink struck De Haan’s vehicle within the intersection. Doornink’s vehicle then entered the northeast ditch and struck a stop sign.

A passenger, 72-year-old Dianne De Haan, was transported by Orange City Ambulance to the Orange City Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Doornink was issued a citation for fail to obey a stop sign.

Orange City Police and Fire assisted on scene.

Worthington, MN (KICD)–Three were injured in a Nobles County accident last Wednesday.

The Minnesota State Patrol says 62-year-old Georgia Blum of South Sioux City was heading north on Highway 59 in a 2007 Lincoln just before 5:30 p.m. She went to make a left hand turn and was rear-ended by a 1995 Ford Windstar driven by 55-year-old Karen Snider of Sheldon.

Both drivers and 45-year-old Shirleen Earle of Spencer were all taken to the Worthington Hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Agencies assisting include the Nobles County Sheriff’s Office, Worthington Police, and Sanford Ambulance.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–An OWI traffic stop lands a Storm Lake woman in jail.

Around 11:00 Friday night 50-year-old Isabella Thompson of Storm was allegedly seen repeatedly backing up and drove into a curb. Police allege that Thompson was intoxicated and arrested her. When Thompson was being booked into Buena Vista County jail she allegedly became belligerent and attempted to assault an officer.

Thompson was subdued and charged with OWI and Interference With Official Acts. She was held on a $1,300 cash bond.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A number of charges were levied against a Storm Lake man after he was found acting in a violent manner.

Responding Storm Lake Police officers were advised that after they were called the woman’s ex-husband, 22-year-old Si Fang fled the scene in a vehicle but prior to leaving he allegedly damaged the reporting party’s vehicle breaking out the vehicle’s windows and kicking the side of the vehicle causing damage.

Fang was located shortly thereafter and was charged with a class D felony count of OWI 3rd Offense, 3rd Degree Criminal Mischief, Driving While Suspended and No SR Insurance.
Fang was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $7,600 cash bond.

Damage to the victim’s vehicle is estimated at $1,000.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Minnesota man was arrested this weekend following an overnight bar check Sunday at Malarky’s Night Club.

Police were told by the victim that he had allegedly been assaulted inside of the night club by a man later identified as 32-year-old Gilpatrick Panuel of Austin. Police attempted to make contact with Panuel who allegedly fled on foot. He was eventually caught.

Following an investigation police transported Panuel with to the Buena Vista County Jail where police allege he became resistive and attempted to strike the arresting officer.

Panuel was subdued and charged by police with Assault, Interference With Official Acts and Public Intoxication. He was held on a $900 cash bond.

Panuel suffered a minor injury during his fight with police but declined medical attention. No officers reported being injured.

Storm, IA (KICD)–A Sunday traffic stop turned up a large blade.

26-year-old James Lenhart was found to be driving with a suspended license by a Storm Lake Police Officer. A large hunting knife with a 10” blade was found concealed under his car seat. Police seized the knife and report that Lenhart had the knife reportedly to defend himself from potential enemies he has made at his place of employment.

Lenhart was charged with Carrying Weapons and Driving While suspended. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond.

Pocahontas, IA (KICD)–A Rolfe man was arrested with multiple charges after a vehicle was taken from a Pocahontas residence.

The Pocahontas sheriff’s office responded to a report of a burglary Friday, June 5 and later found a 2006 Chevorlet Impala and other property that were taken in Webster County. Upon investigation, 31-year-old Andrew McKenna was charged with 2nd degree theft, Burglary, Possession of Methamphetamine 3rd offense, Operation of a motor vehicle without owners consent, unlawful possession of prescription medication, possession of drug paraphernalia and two traffic violations.

McKenna was placed in the Pocahontas County Jail on a $18,900 bond.
