Spencer, IA (KICD)–A Boone man was seriously injured in a Wednesday afternoon head on collision at the intersection of Clay County Roads B-24 and M-50.

Clay County Deputies responded shortly before 4:00 p.m. and determined that 43-year-old Laurie Garrett of Boone was heading south on M-50 in a 2005 Kia Sedona, with two passengers in tow. 39-year-old Chad Laue was heading north on B-24 and went to turn left onto M-50 and a head on collision occurred.

A passenger, 42-year-old Steven Garrett was seriously injured.  Laue was cited for Failure to Yield Upon Making a Left Hand Turn.

Agencies assisting on scene include Spencer Police, Fire and Rescue and Paramedics, and the Dickens Fire Department.

Webb, IA (KICD)–A Webb man was arrested after leaving the scene of an OWI accident.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Simeon Brooks went into a ditch around 3:00 a.m. back on July 1st while heading south from Webb on County Road M-54.

After conducting field sobriety tests Brooks was arrested on a class D felony count of OWI 3rd offense, leaving the scene of an accident, driving while barred, and failure to maintain control.

Brooks made a court appearance on Wednesday and pleaded not guilty.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lakes teen has been arrested on forgery charges.

Storm Lake Police responded to a report of a forgery Wednesday evening at 6. Police investigated the report involving an altered payroll check from the Storm Lake Bakery that allegedly had been altered and cashed at the Central Bank sometime in March. Following the investigation, police arrested 16-year-old Teresita Cepeda who was allegedly responsible for the forgery.

Cepeda was charged with Forgery and Theft 5th Degree.

She was released to a parent with a court date pending and the case was forwarded to the Juvenille Court Authority.

Spencer, IA (KICD)–A Ruthven man was arrested after being located sleeping in his car.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a pickup that almost hit an oncoming vehicle on Highway 18 at 5:43 Sunday morning. It was noted that 19-year-old Tyler Sturgill was all over the roadway.

Sturgill was found passed out in his truck in the 3300 block of Highway 18. After waking him up Sturgill was charged with OWI 1st offense. He was held in Clay County jail in anticipation of an appearance fore the Magistrate.

Hawarden, IA (KICD)–A Hawarden woman faces drug charges following a Tuesday traffic stop.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office stopped 32-year-old Shelly Snow just before 2:30 Tuesday morning at the intersection of Highway 10 and Highway 12 in Hawarden. After an investigation, she was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operating while intoxicated.

Agencies assisting were the Hawarden Police and the Sioux County Drug Recognition Expert.
