Orange City, IA (KICD)–A South Dakota man was airlifted to Sanford after an ATV accident Saturday afternoon.

According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 20-year-old Matthew LeMair of Madison was driving a 2012 Arctic Cat 550 ATV on farm property three miles southwest of Orange City. LeMair came up on a cement barrier and jumped from the ATV before it struck the barrier.

After the accident, LeMair was taken by a private vehicle to the Orange City Hospital and later was airlifted to the Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A wanted Storm Lake man was apprehended by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office on Monday.

34-year-old Joaquin Lorea-Villegas was charged with identity theft and perjury to obtain vehicle licensing.

Lorea was booked into Clay County jail on a $5,000 bond.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake man has been arrested for domestic assault.

Storm Lake Police were called to the Super 8 Motel shortly after 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival of police they met with an adult female victim who reported that her husband, 53-year-old Roberto Martinez, allegedly punched her and knocked her to the ground at their residence. He then reportedly locked her out of their house. The victim was suffering from a wound to her head and was transported by ambulance to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Martinez was located at their home and charged with a class D felony count of Domestic Assault 3rd Offense. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail and held without bond.

Buena Vista County Paramedics assisted on scene.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake woman was taken to the medical center Friday following a vehicle collision.

Storm Lake police and fire responded to a report at 3:45 Friday afternoon of an accident at the intersection of West 6th Street and Ostego Street. According to police, It was determined that 54-year-old Wendlin Douglas of Storm Lake was driving a 2008 Honda south on Ostego Street when he struck 25-year-old Bertha Leal who was driving a 1998 Toyota east on West 6th Street. Leal’s vehicle rolled over and hit a fire hydrant.

Leal was taken by ambulance to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Douglas was cited for failure to obey a stop sign.

The Buena Vista County Paramedics assisted on scene.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake man was arrested after stealing a car from a Subway worker.

According to Storm Lake police, a vehicle was stolen from Subway sometime Friday. The worker told police someone entered her vehicle and stole her debit car while she was working.

Following an investigation, police identified the person responsible as 23-year-old Howard Young. Police conducted a search warrant Sunday morning at Young’s apartment and seized evidence of the burglary as well as packaging materials indicative of drug sales.

Young was arrested, and charged 2 counts of Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card and Burglary of a Vehicle.

He was booked into the Buena Vista county Jail on a $6,000 bond.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–An Aurelia teen was extricated from her vehicle following an accident near Storm Lake.

Storm Lake Police and Fire Departments arrived at West Lakeshore Drive on Highway 7 after an accident caused a vehicle to roll over. According to police, 19-year-old Jennifer Jensen was traveling westbound in a 2006 Pontiac on East Lakeshore Drive when her vehicle allegedly crossed the center line and struck 55-year-old Terri Carstens of Odebolt, IA. Jensen was trapped in her vehicle on the highway and Carstens vehicle rolled once in the south ditch.

Storm Lake Fire Fighters extricated Jensen from her vehicle and she was transported by ambulance to the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center.

Carstens was able to exit her vehicle and she too was transported by ambulance to the medical center.

Jensen was cited for crossing left of center.

The Buena Vista County Sheriff’s Department, Buena Vista County Paramedics and the Newell Ambulance Service assisted on scene.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Storm Lake man faces drug and assault charges after threatening a co-worker.

The Storm Lake Police executed a search warrant Sunday evening at 11 after investigating 34-year-old Bouasone Sihachak earlier in the day in connection with ongoing threats against a Storm Lake citizen. According to police, Sihachak had allegedly been harassing and threatening a co-work at the Storm Lake Tyson Plant. The victim reported approximately four months ago Sihachak pulled a gun and pointed it at him in the Tyson Plant parking lot and there have been continued threats through the past four months.

During the search at Sihachak’s home, police located and seized drug paraphernalia including instruments used to smoke methamphetamine, a small amount of marijuana, small marijuana plantings, and a black in color pellet rifle.

Sihachak was charged with assault while displaying a weapon, harassment 3rd degree, manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on an $8,600 bond.
