Ruthven, IA (KICD)–A Ruthven teen was injured in a Tuesday afternoon accident.

The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office says 17-year-old Morgan McGrauth was heading west in the 3800 block of 300th Street at 1:48 p.m. She met a car on a hill and lost control of her 2000 Buick.

McGrauth was taken by private vehicle to Palo Alto County Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Agencies assisting on scene include the Graettinger Fire Department and Palo Alto County Ambulance. McGrauth was cited for failure to maintain control.

Sheldon, IA (KICD)–Criminal charges have been filed against a man who had walked away from the Sheldon Residential Treatment Facility.

Sheldon Police say 32-year-old Christopher Wunder Jr. walked to a residence on East 4th Street in Sheldon overnight last Saturday where he discovered a 1997 Ford Pickup which was unlocked with the keys in its ignition. Wunder drove the truck to a car dealership lot in Sioux City where he abandoned it. Investigating officers discovered that Wunder had already been arrested on a warrant out of Monona County for 2nd degree theft and was being held in the Monona County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond.

Wunder was subsequently charged with Operation of a Motor Vehicle Without Owner’s Consent and Driving While Suspended. Additional warrants for Wunder’s arrest have been issued in Buena Vista County for violation of his probation.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A Spencer woman has been arrested for stealing form a pair of Storm Lake stores.

Police were advised that 41-year-old Stephanie Marble entered Hy-Vee on July 27th and filled a cart with merchandise which was mostly alcoholic beverages and then departed the store without paying. Store management provided police with security video of the incident and the female’s vehicle. The value of the stolen items is estimated in excess of $600.
A short time later police were advised that Marblecommitted a similar theft at the Storm Lake Wal-Mart Store where she exited the store with a cart full of merchandise inclusive of two lap top computers and household goods without paying. Merchandise stolen at Wal-Mart is estimated to be worth in excess of $700.

After questioning on Thursday Marble was charges with a class D felony count of 2nd degree theft. She was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $5,000 cash bond. Marble was identified by tracking the vehicle used in the thefts which was captured on security video.

Spencer Police and the Iowa DOT assisted.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–A drunken man from Detroit was arrested after fighting with Storm Lake Police.

An on patrol officer came upon 28-year-old Jose Nunez staggering in the roadway around midnight on Friday. Police allege that Nunez was extremely intoxicated and arrested him. Upon being arrested Nunez reportedly fought with police and was taken to the ground and subdued.

A police officer received two minor lacerations to his arm during the struggle which did not require medical attention.

Police charged Nunez with Public Intoxication and Interference With Official Acts Causing Bodily Injury. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $2,000 cash bond.
