Laurens, IA (KICD) — Five Laurens residents are arrested on numerous charges after the discovery of a pot growing operation in a residence.
The Pocahontas County Sheriffs Office conducted an extensive investigation, culminating with the execution of a search warrant at a residence at 403 North 3rd Street in Laurens, owned by Adrianna Schossow and Mario Neither.
Once inside the house, four people in the basement were found that were smoking marijuana.The search further uncovered a home marijuana growing operation, in another section of the house. As a result, 5 people are facing numerous drug charges.
30-year old Mario Neither is charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance – Marijuana, a class D felony, 2 counts of Failure To Affix A Drug Tax Stamp, both class D felonies, along with 5 class D felony counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, Possession of Marijuana, Child Endangerment, Keeping a Premise for the Use of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance.
22-year old Adrianna Schossow is charged with Manufacturing a Controlled Substance-Marijuana, and Failure To Affix a Drug Tax Stamp, both class D felonies, and Child Endangerment.
36-year old Demetrius Washington was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance With Intent To Deliver, a class D felony, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
28-year old Kristin Amos Ross ws charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, while 41-year old Kay Richards was charged with Possession of a Prescription Drug, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Richards and Schossow were released next morning on their own recognizance, while Neither is being held on a $22,300 bond, Washington is held on a $7300 bond, and Ross was released after posting a $1300 bond. Assisting with the search was the Storm Lake and Laurens Police Departments.
