Arnolds Park, IA (KICD)–Plans to update the historic State Pier at Historic Arnolds Park are moving forward
HAPI Board President Neal Conover tells KICD News that the semi circular area at the end of Lake Street at the park used to feature a floating dock and budget concerns with the Iowa DNR left the pier unusable after running into structural issues a couple of years ago.
Conover says an idea that has been floated about as opposed to a new dock is a new pier.
While no final design has been approved the cost could possibly exceed $1 million with the funds raised by Historic Arnolds Park.
The project still must be approved by the IOWA DNR and other committees with some fundraising to be done once approved.
