Lake Park, IA (KICD)–A Lake Park girl is spending her Thanksgiving week representing Iowa in the National American Miss Pageant.
Carlie Jo Ahrenstorff, the daughter of Stacey and Todd Ahrenstorff, tells KICD News that she has been preparing for this for months after finishing as 4th runner up in the state contest earlier this year.
Carlie Jo is very excited to be in Hollywood and to interact with the other 100-150 girls.
National American Miss was founded in 2002. Each year, the pageant awards one million dollars in cash, scholarships and prizes to recognize and assist the development of young women nationwide. They do not have a swimsuit competition and make-up is not allowed on contestants who are 12 years old and younger.
You can follow Carlie Jo and the rest of the competition live through Sunday at www.namiss.com
