ILCC GAP Funding Program

Estherville, IA (KICD)–Individuals who are under-employed and want to upgrade their skills can take part in a new financial assistance program being offered at Iowa Lakes Community College.

Business Programmer Shauna Donovan tells KICD News that the GAP Tuition program focuses on non-credit programs which are considered ‘in demand’ jobs.

Eligible programs at Iowa Lakes include Certified Nurse Aid, Emergency Medical Technician, Advanced EMT, Medication Aide, Activity Coordinator, Class A CDL/Truck Driving and Welding.

To be eligible to receive the funding, an applicant must have an income that does not exceed 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines; must complete an application and provide income verification; take the National Career Readiness Certificate; and interview someone who is currently working in his or her field of interest.
