Highway 86 Ribbon Cutting Held

Spirit Lake, IA (KICD) — A ribbon cutting for the new Highway 86 takes place.

Friday afternoon, several attendees gathered at the Minnesota-Iowa state line for the ribon cutting event. The all new highway 86 project from Highway 9 to the Minnesota border, officially opened Thursday. The Project has been the works for some time, according to Karussis…

It was said that discussion of needed work on the Stretch of Highway 86 actually started in 1999. The cost of the Project came in around 9 million dollars.

Senator David Johnson was among those in attendance, at the Friday ceremony.
