Spirit Lake, IA (KICD) — Highway 86 has reopened.
The Iowa Department of Transportation says Iowa 86 was open to traffic at 9 a.m. Thursday, from the intersection with Highway 9 north to the Minnesota state line.
As previously stated on KICD News, to celebrate the completion of the $7.4 million road construction project, a ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held 2 p.m. Friday, near the Iowa and Minnesota state line at the Iowa 86 and 100th Street intersection in Dickinson County. Iowa 86 will remain open during the event.
This section of Iowa 86 had been closed since April 2013. Cedar Valley Corp. of Waterloo was the project contractor.
