Okoboji, IA (KICD)–Governor Terry Branstad was on hand for the 110th annual Association of Business and Industry convention in Okoboji on Thursday.
Implementation of the recently passed education reform bill was noted as a top priority.
Branstad noted that what used to be referred to as allowable growth was changed this legislative session to supplemental state aid, which uses no property tax monies.
Branstad also spoke of the statewide STEM initiative which focuses on science, technology, engineering, and math.
Branstad shared a broad recap of the 2013 legislative session with an eye towards the future.
The 110th annual Association of Business and Industry convention was held at the Arrowwood Resort and Convention Center in Okoboji.
