Fraga Murder Trial

Worthington, MN (KICD) — The murder trial for a Worthington man has ended.

On Wednesday, in Nobles County District Court Josue Frage was found guilty on multiple charges, including murder in the first degree while committing criminal sexual conduct; murder in the first degree while committing child abuse; murder in the first degree while committing domestic abuse; murder in the second degree while committing criminal sexual conduct; and murder in the second degree while committing assault in the first degree.
It took the jury aproximately 5 1/2 hours to come up with the verdict.  He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole by Judge David Christensen.

In March 2008, Samantha died due to severe head injuries and had bruises and injuries all over her body.  Fraga was originally convicted of first-degree murder in May 2009. Then, new evidence resulted in that conviction being overturned.  That’s when a new trial was ordered.
The trial of Fraga went a week and a half, of which 6 and a half days were used by prosecution presenting it’s case and calling 42 witnesses. The presentation by the defense involved calling just one witness and took about six minutes for their presentation.
