Fostoria, IA (KICD)–The city of Fostoria remains under a drinking water advisory following a Friday evening water main break.
Deputy CEO Elizabeth Johansen tells KICD News that the break has been repaired, but they are waiting on test results to come back from the state office.
Until water test results show the water is safe, it is recommended that residents DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.
On a side note the water will be shut off in Fostoria from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday for water system maintenance.
