Fostoria, IA (KICD) — A break in a water main results in a boil advisory for the city of Fostoria.
On Friday, and early Saturday, Iowa Lakes Regional Water had a water main break in the water system. The break has been repaired, through a joint effort by Iowa Lakes Regional Water and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources to restore water service to their customers.
Until water test results show the water is safe, it is recommended with the Drinking Water Advisory for Fostoria until further notice. Residents are advised DO NOT DRINK THE WATER WITHOUT BOILING IT FIRST. Bring all water to a boil, let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using, or use bottled water. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth, and food preparation until further notice.
Again, this advisory is a precaution until bacterial sample results are available. ILRW will notify you again when the results are available and the advisory is lifted.
We apologize for the inconvenience during this time, For more information, please contact Iowa Lakes Regional Water at 712-262-8847.
