Spencer, IA (KICD)–Some vandalism occurred Tuesday on the Clay County Fairgrounds.
A citizen who was walking her dogs spotted a pair of boys in the act and notified Fair staff. The damage included a broken window at the Depot Building; two windows at one of the conservation cabins; and damage to the announcer’s stand, horse barn, and a pair of fire extinguishers were emptied.
Clay County Fair Manager Jeremy Parsons tells KICD News they like leaving the grounds open for public use.
If you see something that looks suspicious contact local authorities. Parsons hopes that similar incidents do not occur or they may have to lock up the Fairgrounds.
The investigation has been turned over to Spencer Police.
