CCF: Attendance & Saturday Preview

Spencer, IA (KICD)–Today is World Record Day at the fair as an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the Largest Practical Science Lesson in the Grandstand will take place at 11:00.

Another 40,895 made their way through the gates on Friday upping the 7-day total to 249,096. The all time record of 327,937 was set back in 2011.

The Open Class Horse Show featuring Miniatures, Antique Buggies, Draft Hitches, and Pony Hitches starts at 9:00 at the Outdoor Arena.

The GoldStar Amusements opens at 10:00 with all day wristbands available for $24.

The George Maurer Group will play a variety of music at the Northwest Bank Stage at 10:00., 1:00, and 4:00. Farmer Bob will also start to stroll the fairgrounds at 10:00 and will be back out at Noon, 2:00pm, and 4:00pm.

Comedian and Hypnotist Terry DaVolt will take to the Farmers Bank Stage at 10:30 with additional showings at 1:30 and 4:30.

A Trumpeter Swan presentation will be held at the Sundholm Cabin at 11:00 and 1:00.

Comedic Juggler Greg Frisbee will perform at 11:00 and 1:30 at the DISH Plaza and will be strolling the grounds at 5:00.

The CD 107.7 Clay County Fair Idol Qualifiers will perform at 11:30, 2:00, 4:30, and 6:30 at the KICD Courtyard.

A capella group Six Appeal will perform on the Northwest Bank Stage at 11:30, 2:30 and 5:30.

Richie Lee & the Fabulous Fifties will play tunes from the 50’s & 60’s at noon, 3:00, and 6:00 at the Farmers Bank Stage.

The Big Cat Encounter has showings at noon, 3:00, and 6:00 north of Gate A.

The ShenaniGuns! Comedy Wild West Show will perform at 12:30, 3:30 and 5:30 north of the KICD Depot building.

There will be a water rocket demonstration at the Boy Scout Park at 1:00.

The Davis Family will perform at 2:00 at the Art Barn Stage.

The Iowa vs. Iowa State Football Game Viewing Party starts at 5:00 in the Events Center Ballroom

Glenn Henriksen will be on the piano at the DISH Plaza at 5:00 and 7:00.

The Open Class Llama Show will start at 6:30 in the Livestock Pavillion.

Tonight’s grandstand act is Scotty McCreery with special guests Craig Campbell and Casey Muessigmann presented by CD 107.7 at 7:30 p.m.

The evening will close with the Clay County Fair Youth Dance at 9:00 in the Events Center.
