Branstad Signs Harvest Weight Proclamation

Spencer, IA: Iowa Governor Terry Branstad has signed a proclamation to allow the transportation of overweight loads of corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage and stover.

The proclamation allows vehicles transporting those commodities to be overweight without a permit, but not to exceed 90,000 pounds gross weight, and only for the duration of the proclamation.

The proclamation is for transport on Iowa highways only and only for sixty days, according to the Governor. Branstad signed the proclamation on Friday.
