Armstrong, IA (KICD)–Voters have approved a merger of the Armstrong-Ringsted and Sentral school districts.
Unofficial results from Tuesday’s election show 369 in favor and 60 against the move which comes to roughly 86 percent voting yes.
Armstrong Ringsted Superintendent Matt Berninghaus tells KICD News that Armstrong-Ringsted, Sentral, and North Sentral Kossuth will continue their whole grade sharing agreement for the coming school year. The reorganization will take effect in the 2014-2015 school year with the creation of the North Union District. The new district will see roughly $1 million in state incentives with the reorganization.
