Lake Park, IA (KICD)–A Marathon man was taken to the hospital following a Sunday afternoon motorcycle accident.

The Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office says 32-year-old Jimmy Foster was driving a 1996 Suzuki Motorcycle southbound on M-27 in the curves just south of Highway 9 around 4:15 p.m. in the 1500 mile. He lost control of the bike and left the roadway. The bike and Foster collided with the ditch.

Foster was transported by ambulance to Lakes Regional Healthcare with non-incapacitating injuries. He was cited for failure to have a valid motorcycle license and failure to maintain control.

Agencies assisting on scene include Spirit Lake Ambulance, Lake Park Rescue, Fire, and Police, the Iowa Highway Patrol, and Bob’s Auto Body & Tow of Milford.

Sibley, IA (KICD)–Two were hospitalized following a Friday accident.

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Jerry Wilson of Paton was driving a 2001 Buick Park Avenue northbound on Pierce Avenue and stopped at the intersection of 170th Street at 5:00 p.m. At this time 32-year-old Mayra Vasques of Worthington was driving a 2005 Ford Five Hundred westbound on 170th Street. Wilson did not see Vasques’ vehicle approaching the Pierce Avenue intersection which led to a collision.

Vasques and a juvenile passenger were transported to the Osceola Community Hospital with possible injuries. Wilson was given a citation for Failure to Obey Stop Sign.

Sibley Fire and Rescue and Sibley Ambulance assisted at the scene.

Albert City, IA (KICD)–Buena Vista County Deputies executed a narcotics search warrant on Monday.

Numerous drugs and paraphernalia were found at 230 Main Street in Albert City. 18-year-old Robert Taylor Jr. was arrested and a 14-year-old male was detained.

Taylor was booked into Buena Vista County jail on a class C felony count of using a person under the age of 18 in the drug trade, a class D felony charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, gathering where controlled substances are unlawfully used, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $16,300. The teen was released to a parent with charges pending.

Additional charges are expected to be filed.

Buena Vista County Reserve Deputies assisted on scene.

Royal, IA (KICD)–A 13-year-old was charged with reckless use of fire Monday night.

Clay County Deputies were called to a barn near Royal. When a grandparent observed smoke coming from the barn he went out to check and found an area 4×6 in diameter on fire. The fire was put out by the grandfather. The juvenile male had 6 and 10 year old siblings with him, placing their safety in danger. He was admitted and transported to the Juvenile Detention Center.

The incident remains under investigation.

Primghar, IA (KICD) — The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office is asking for assistance in a trailer theft.

A Construction trailer was stolen from a farm 3/4ths of a mile north of Sanborn, on Highway 59. It’s believed the theft occurred between the late afternoon hours of May 17th and the evening hours of May 19th.

The trailer is described as a black double axle 2008 Mid-America enclosed trailer, with a rear ramp door, and chrome rims. The trailer has a red and white “Kleve Construction” logo on it’s sides and rear, and contained numerous construction tools and a golf cart.

The Crime Dusters program is offering a $350 reward to anyone who provides
information on this crime that leads to the arrest and conviction of the offenders.
