Storm Lake Drug Arrests

Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A traffic stop leads to drug charges and the arrest of two from Fort Dodge.

On Monday evening around 8:30, Storm Lake Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic offense.  Upon contacting the occupants, police allege they detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Police searched the vehicle and reportedly located and seized a small amount of marijuana as well as 39 tablets of a prescription drug (Fluoxetine) that was not associated with a required prescription.

Following an investigation police arrested  22-year old Levi Moore and charged him with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Speeding, and No Insurance. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,000.00 cash bond.

Police arrested 26-year old Lindsey Holm and charged her with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of a Prescription Drug.  She was booked into the county jail on a $2,000.00 cash bond.


Sanborn Drug Arrest

Sanborn, IA (KICD) — A Sanborn man is arrested on drug related charges.

Shortly after 2-pm September 23rd, the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa Great Lakes Task Force made a controlled substance arrest of 23-year old Tyler Schons at his residence in Sanborn. Schons was arrested on an O’Brien County Arrest Warrant for two counts of Delivery of Methamphetamines, a class “C” Felony.

Subsequently a search warrant was obtained and served at Schons’ apartment and he was later charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sanborn Police Department.

Schons is currently being held at the O’Brien County Jail on a $1,000 bond.


Storm Traffic Stop Pot

Storm Lake, IA (KICD) — A Storm Lake man is arrested after a traffic stop.

Around 2-am Wednesday morning, Storm Lake Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  Upon talking with the driver, 26-year old Larry Morataya, police allege he had a small amount of marijuana in his possession, which was seized by the officer.

After an investigation, police arrested Morataya, charging him with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Drug Paraphernalia, Driving While Suspended, and No Insurance.  He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1300.00 cash bond.
