Estherville, IA (KICD)–Drug charges were filed following an early Monday morning traffic stop by Estherville Police.
Officers identified the driver of the vehicle and determined that he was a juvenile. Officers detected an odor marijuana coming from the passenger compartment of the car. A passenger in the front of the vehicle was identified as 18-year-old Elijah Nelson of Superior. During the course of the investigation K-9 Max was deployed and confirmed the odor of drugs. A subsequent search of the car turned up a baggy of pot.
Nelson was placed under arrest for Possession of Marijuana. He was booked into Emmet County jail. The juvenile driver was cited for Driving while under Suspension and turned over to his guardian
Orange City, IA (KICD)–A Hull man has been arrested for breaking into a home.
55-year-old Leon Rens was charged Monday with a class D felony count of 3rd degree burglary. The arrest was a result of an investigation of a break-in that occurred on June 23rd in which Rens is accused by the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office of entering an occupied residence north of Boyden and taking property.
