Area Arrests

Estherville, IA (KICD)–Drug charges were filed against an Ocheyedan man following an early Sunday morning traffic stop by Estherville Police.

During the stop shortly before 2:00 a.m., officers were able to smell an odor of marijuana coming from the interior of the vehicle. A search of the car turned up 3 separate baggies of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia.

20-year-old Joshua Bosma was charged with class D felony counts of Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Deliver and Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp as well as Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Pocahontas, IA (KICD) — A Storm Lake man was arrested in connection with multiple vehicle thefts.

Pocahontas County Sheriffs Office said 49-year old James Thompson was arrested by Pocahontas County deputies May 31st, when he was discovered driving a 2002 Chevy Trail Blazer that was stolen from an Ida Grove car dealership.

Further investigation determined Thompson had also stolen a Ford Water truck from the Buena Vista County Raceway, drove it to a farm near Palmer, where he took a 2013 Kawasaki 4-wheeler. He then drove the unit to Varina, taking a 2001 Pontiac from Bass Repair Shop.

The Pontiac was then driven to Ida Grove, where Thompson then test drove the Blazer from Mark Hansen Motors he was caught in, back into Pocahontas County.

As a result, Thomson was charged with 3rd Degree Burglary, a class D felony, 4 counts of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Owners Consent, 3 counts of Trespassing, and Driving With a Suspended License.

Thompson has since been released from Pocahontas County Jail, and is currently jailed in Ida County.

Fostoria, IA (KICD)–A complaint of an underage drinking party in Fostoria early Sunday morning has resulted in two adults and 6 juveniles being charged with underage alcohol possession.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to an underage drinking party complaint and upon investigation, it was found the subjects at the residence had been consuming alcoholic beverages under the legal age. 18-year-old Kyle Champine of Fostoria and 18-year-old Jacob Warburton of Milford were both cited released for Underage Alcohol Possession.

Two 17-year-old females from Dakota City, S.D., one 17-year-old female from Spirit Lake, one 17-year-old male from Spencer, one 17-year-old male from Arnolds Park, and one 17-year-old male from Milford were all cited into juvenile court for Underage Alcohol Possession and were released to their parents or guardians.
