Spencer, IA: (May 08, 2013) – AGCO Corporation broke ground Tuesday for a major expansion of its Jackson, Minnesota manufacturing plant.
The venture is called “Jackson, Fast Forward.” Director of Operations Eric Fisher says the project is bold, but it will greatly enhance plant capacity as well as improve the quality of the tractors and application equipment manufactured there.
Fisher says the expansion will result in 30 percent more manufacturing capacity at the Jackson facility and the latest in manufacturing technology..
Fisher says the improvements will allow workers to manufacture 33400 tractors and 2000 application units each year at the Jackson facility by 2018. He says being a player in a shrinking pool of tractor manufacturers in the U.S. means making a sizeable investment in the latest technology.
The expansion will help create 75 new jobs. The Jackson AGCO plant manufactures high-horsepower Challenger and Massey Ferguson tractors and TerraGator and RoGator application equipment.
