Fairmont, MN (KICD) — A Jackson man is charged in Martin County.
On Wednesday, 19-year old Dylan Thompson had burglary and theft charges against him in Martin County.
Thompson, along with brothers Bryan and Brandon Poppe of Trimont, are all accused of numerous thefts of tractors, tools and ag implements that occurred throughout the summer. Most of the crimes took place in Martin County, but all three could face charges in Jackson and Watonwan counties, along with Emmet County in Iowa.
According to Martin County Attorney Terry Viesselman, there was only one case in Jackson County for the Ag-Chem tools, and one each in Emmet and Watonwan County, but more possible charges could be forthcoming.
The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said from May through August, there were numerous reports of thefts that involved tractors, tools and ag implements.
Thompson was located and was brought to Jackson County’s Sheriff’s Department for questioning. From May through August, a total of 13 thefts were reported, with the value of stolen items estimated to be $200,000 to $250,000.
Thompson is in custody in Jackson County.and faces a total of 13 different charges of theft and burglary.
