Spencer, IA (KICD) — Spencer, Iowa is now the home to an official Guiness World Record. The announcement was shared Friday by Clay County Fair Manager Jeremy Parsons. He said the record-breaking event, which took place on Sept. 14, during the Clay County Fair, hosted 771 people who participated in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics related lecture, demonstrations, and two experiments all showing the “Power of Air.” Parsons said the response from Guiness came back rather quickly, and Parsons gives praise to Jane Campbell and all at Iowa Lakes community College for their efforts to get everything organized, from start to finish. Parsons said the Clay County Fair is the perfect place to set a record, with it’s efforts to have something for everyone. Official certificates recognizing the record will arrive soon.
