Graettinger, IA (KICD) — A Spencer man is injured in a single vehicle accident on a bridge.

the Palo Alto County Sheriffs Office said the accident occurred around 11:30 Saturday night, in the 3000 block of 420th Avenue, on the bridge south of Graettinger.

Joshua Jacobsen was southbound on 420th Avenue in a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, when he struck the southwest guardrail of the bridge. The vehicle scraped the rail before coming to rest at the end of it.

Jacobsen was ten to the Palo Alto County Hospital by ambulance. Damage to the Pontiac was estimated at $8000, while the bridge received an estimated $500.

Jacobsen was cited for Failure To Maintain Control. The accident remains under investigation, and other charges are pending. Assisting at the scene was the Graettinger Fire Department, and Graettinger and Emmetsburg Ambulances.

Everly, IA (KICD)–A search warrant executed in Everly led to the arrest of two adult males and one juvenile male.

Shortly before 10:00 last Monday night the Clay County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the residence and located marijuana and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. At this time 18-year-old Jared Hodge and a 17-year-old were placed under arrest. Hodge was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was held in Clay County jail to appear before the Magistrate. The juvenile was cited into juvenile court for Possession of Marijuana and released to the custody of his father.

A Clay County Deputy met with 53-year-old John Hodge on Sunday afternoon. He was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Marijuana and Drug Paraphernalia. He was released from jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond.

Spencer, IA (KICD)–Two Minnesota men face drug charges following an early Sunday morning traffic stop by a Clay County Deputy.

The passenger, 19-year-old Zackeri Zelinko of Lakefield, had pot stuck to his shirt. It was later found that the driver, 22-year-old Casey Rehnelt of Heron Lake, had pot and drug paraphernalia in his car.

Rehnelt was arrested for possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and speeding. Zelinko was charged with possession of marijuana. Both men were held in Clay County jail to appear before the Magistrate.

Storm Lake, IA (KICD)–Two Rockwell CIty man were arrested on theft charges Friday night.

Storm Lake Police were called to Wal-Mart where 22-year-old Andrew Lange and 19-year-old Randy Gallentine were being detained for theft by store security. They had allegedly stolen approximately $480 in merchandise.

Police took the two men into custody and during the investigation located a vehicle owned by Lange in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Police allege they located additional stolen merchandise in the vehicle from the Wal-Mart, Bomgaars, and Dunham’s stores in Fort Dodge.Police charged both Lange and Gallentine with 4th Degree Theft. Both men were booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on a $1,000 cash bond each.

Sheldon, IA (KICD)–The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is looking into three separate scrap metal thefts.

The thefts took place at rural residences near Sheldon between September 5th and 11th and likely occurred during the overnight hours. In each incident the perpetrator(s) took scrap copper and metal. A was caught on a surveillance camera during the early morning hours of the 11th.

Sheldon, IA (KICD)–A number of reports of vandalism to mailboxes is being investigated.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated 26 reports of vandalism to mailboxes, which occurred in the rural northeast area of Sioux County, near Sheldon. These crimes likely occurred sometime during the late evening hours of Friday or early morning hours on Saturday.

The sheriff’s office believes the mailboxes were damaged when they were struck with some type of blunt instrument. Other mailboxes were pushed over or forcibly removed from their posts and thrown onto the roadway.

Several similar vandalisms are being investigated in Lyon and O’Brien County.

Rock Valley, IA (KICD)–A Rock Valley man was taken to the hospital after being struck by a stray bullet early Sunday afternoon.

The Sioux County Sheriff says 54-year-old David Heuer was moving some guns in his residence when a .22 caliber revolver fell to the ground and discharged, striking him in the arm.

Heuer was transported to Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley by private vehicle. He was later transferred to Mckenna Hospital in Sioux Falls by Rock Valley Ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
