Clay Central Everly School Board Meeting Recap

Everly, IA (KICD)–The Clay Central Everly School Board met Monday evening.

Superintendent Dennis McClain noted that it looks like the district will have a healthy unspent balance for the most recent fiscal year.

The board approved the 2013-14 Master Contract which calls for a 3.3 percent increase for certified staff, approved a 3.3 percent bump for support staff, and a 2.5 percent increase for their high school Principal and Activities Director.

There was plenty of discussion on the topic of building upgrades to meet fire code and ADA requirements. No firm cost has been compiled but it’s likely the district will start to look at changing up all of the door handles.

McClain says they will be having a Chromebook Bootcamp just before the start of the school year.

It was also noted that the Little Mavs Daycare program is moving along smoothly with an informational meeting to be held at 6:00 this Thursday in Royal and the district is on the lookout for both a head and assistant varsity boys basketball coach.
