Spring Musical at Clay Central Everly 3/26-28:

The Clay Central Everly high school musical this year is “Grease”. Showtimes are Thursday, March 26h, Friday March 27th, and Saturday March 28th at 7pm. Tickets are $5 for students and $7 for adults.

Dinner Theatre in Bancroft March 27th – 29th:

“Backstage in Bancroft” Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Summit Center in Bancroft. Dinner Theatre Tickets are $30 for the production of “Boeing, Boeing.” Phone 515-765-1010 for reservations.

Eastern Star Salad Luncheon 3/28:

The Spencer Chapter of Eastern Star hosts a salad luncheon Saturday, March 28th at the Masonic Temple. Lunch at 11am, program by Del’s Garden Center at noon. Tickets are $8. The public is welcome.

Sioux Rapids Spaghetti Supper 3/28:

The Sioux Rapids Legion has a spaghetti supper Saturday, March 28th from 5-7:30pm. Proceeds from the free-will offering go toward building upkeep and local scholarships.

People for Pets Benefit Dinner 3/28:

There will be a benefit dinner for People for Pets Saturday, March 28th at the Spencer Legion Hall from 5-7pm. Slim D’s Barbecue from Ankeny will be serving their chili that won the Winter Games’ cook-off the past two years. $10 per person with children 10 and under eating free. There will also be raffles and an auction.

Ayreshire Fire Department Breakfast 3/29:

The Ayreshire Fire Department serves pancakes, omelets, and sausage Sunday, March 29th from 8 to 12:30pm at the community center. Free will donation for training and equipment at the Ayreshire fire department and first responders.

Everly Lions Burger Bar 3/29:

The Everly Lions Club hosts a burger bar Sunday, March 29th from 10am-12:30pm at the Community Center. Adults are $7, Children 5-12 are $5, and preschooler eat free. Take outs and deliveries are available by phoning 834-2567. Menu includes burgers, hotdogs, chips, beans, and ice cream sundaes. Proceeds go to the school house renovation in the park, the after-Prom party, and other Lions’ programs.

Palm Sunday Dinner in Sioux Rapids 3/29:

First Lutheran Church of Sioux Rapids will host a ham dinner Palm Sunday, March 29th from 11-1p. A free will offering will go toward mission projects.

Dance at Spirit Lake Senior Center 3/29:

Shirley’s Big Band will perform Sunday, March 29th from 2-5pm at the Spirit Lake Senior Center under the water tower.

Drama at St. Joseph’s 3/29:

The Drama Ministries Ensemble from Northwestern College in Orange City will perform bible stories for the public Sunday, March 29th at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Milford. The program is at 4:30 and is free to the public.

This Week at Dickinson County Nature Center:

  • Organized geo-caching at Camp Foster Saturday, March 28th 3-5pm at Horseshoe Bend. Sponsored by Camp Foster.

“Night Sky” program from Palo Alto Conservation 3/30:

The Palo Alto County Conservation board hosts a Night Sky program Monday, March 30th at the Lost Island Nature Center (Skies permitting.) Bring a lawn chair and binoculars. You’ll also get the opportunity to view the sky through a telescope.

Good Friday Passion Play 4/3:

The Osceola County Ministerial Association hosts three performances of the Passion Play this year. 5pm, 7pm, and 9pm at the Sibley- Ocheyedan High School. Tickets are free but must be reserved ahead of time by phoning 712-754-3715.

Spencer Easter Egg Hunt 4/4:

The Spencer Jaycees sport a free Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, April 4th for ages 1 to 11 at the Goal Kick Indoor Soccer Area. There will also be face painting, photos with the bunny, and prizes.

  • April 28th: Minnesota West in Jackson at 7pm.
  • May 5th: CDTAEA Building in Storm Lake at 7pm.

Spencer Area Activity Center Schedule for Week of 3/23:

Monday: Exercise, Nickel Bingo, bridge, and craft class.

Tuesday: 500, Cribbage, and Nickel Bingo

Wednesday: Exercise, Canasta, and Pass 4 Pinochle.

Thursday: Exercise, Nickel Bingo, and Bridge.

Friday: Hy Vee bakery giveaway (Two items per person), Exercise, Pass Pinochle, Canasta.

Sunday March 29th: Biscuit and Gravy Breakfast 9am-1pm. Free Will offering.

Sexual Abuse Training in Spencer 3/31:

Specialists from CAASA will present a public training session on identifying child abuse at the Spencer Library March 31st from 10am-12:15pm and again from 6:30pm-8:45pm.

Autism Spectrum Support Group of Northwest Iowa

The Autism Spectrum Support Group of Northwest Iowa meets the third Monday of every month from 7pm to 8:30pm at Hope Reformed Church in Spencer. New members are welcome.
