Pancake Breakfast  in Sutherland 9/5

South O’Brien FFA Pancake Breakfast, Saturday September 5th at the Sutherland City Park Shelter House, 7am-11am, Free Will donation

Church Supper in in Sutherland 9/6:

The Bethel Lutheran Church of Sutherland hosts a ham and roast beef supper with homemade pie Sunday, September 6th from 4:30-7pm. Adults are $10, 10 years and under are $5 and preschoolers eat free.

Freedom Hall in Albert City 9/7

Freedom Hall, located at the Albert City Threshermen & Collectors show site, will be open Labor Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Stop in to see a great collection of military vehicles, memorabilia and displays organized by area veteran service organizations.

Labor Day Turkey Dinner 9/7

Graettinger United Methodist Church Labor Day Turkey dinner will be held Monday, September 7th 10:30am until 1:00pm. Adults $10.00 – ages 5 – 12 – $7.00. Tickets are available at the door.

Annual Sew-a-thon in Spencer 9/26:

The Fabric and Textile Warehouse sew-a-thon for veterans is Saturday September 26th from 10-2 at the American Legion in Spencer. Bring your sewing machine and help sew, cut, iron, and fold.

Ice Cream Social in Sioux Rapids 9/27

Everyone is invited to attend a Homemade Ice Cream Social on September 27th. Members of First Lutheran Church will be serving a pork burger meal, ice cream and pie on Sunday, September 27th from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at First Lutheran Church in Sioux Rapids. Come and enjoy an end of summer meal. There will be a free will offering.

Monday: Exercises, Bridge, and Nickel Bingo.

Tuesday: 500 and Nickel Bingo.

Wednesday: Exercise, Pass 4 Pinochle, Canasta.

Thursday: Exercise, Bridge, Nickel Bingo.

Friday: Hy Vee Bakery giveaway, Exercise, Pass Pinochle, and Canasta.

Saturday: Bingo. Doors open at 4pm. Early Games at 6pm. Regular Games at 7pm.

** Sunday, August 30th: Waffle and Sausage Breakfast 8am-1pm. Free will offering.


Baseball Exhibit at Clay County Heritage Center:

The summer exhibit at the Clay County Heritage Center is “Celebrate Clay County Baseball”. Highlights include displays about the various school teams that have won state championships, the city teams that played each other, and the semi-pro “Spencer Cardinals”.   The museum is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 10-4; Thursdays 10-6; and Saturdays 10-3. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids 5-12.
