Tall Corn Days in Sioux Rapids 7/25 – 7/27:

Friday’s highlights include a Sweet Corn Feed and a street dance. Saturday starts with a 5K Walk/Run ; continues with a parade, meal, games for kids, and another street dance. Sunday’s events include a waffle breakfast, community church service, and sand volleyball tournament. The full schedule is at www.siouxrapids.com

Milford Pioneer Days 7/25 – 7/27:

Friday’s highlights include the Cherokee Ridge Runners, inflatables for kids, and a Classic Car Cruise. Saturday’s events include a 5K Fun Run, parade, and community barbecue. Sunday’s events include a pancake breakfast, omelet breakfast, and classic tractor ride. The full schedule can be found at www.milfordcommercialclub.com

Ayrshire Days 2014 7/26 – 7/27:

Ayrshire Days are Saturday July 26th and Sunday July 27th this year. Saturday events include a Hog Road by the Silver Lake Fire Department from 5-7pm and a Street Dance featuring BB and the Bullfrogs at 8 (BYOB). Sunday events include a Pancake and Omelet Breakfast, Free watermelon, and kid’s games.

Single’s Dance in Burt 7/26:

The Algona Road Runners host a Single’s Dance Saturday, July 26th at the Burt Community Center. The dance runs 8 to midnight with music by Mark and Lenny.

Celiac Sprue Support Group 7/26:

The Northwest Iowa Celiac Sprue Support Group meets Saturday, July 26th from 2-4pm in the Cedar Room at Spencer Hospital. Bring a gluten free snack with the recipe to share.

Ice Cream Social in Everly 8/3:

The United Methodist Church of Everly will sponsor an Ice Cream Social Sunday, August 3rd from 5-7pm at Hap Ketelsen Center. A free will offering will be accepted for Burgers, bars, and both regular and sugar free homemade ice cream.

Micro Mini Nationals at Clay County Fairgrounds 8/8 – 8/9:

Spencer’s Old Iron Car Club holds a huge weekend event featuring street rods, customs, classics, and muscle cars Friday August 8th and Saturday August 9th. Events include a Poker Run, Show and Shine, Supper, and Live band. More at www.oldironcompany.com

5K Run to support Spencer’s DARE Program 8/9:

Spencer Police sponsor a 5K run Saturday, August 9th at 8am to support the community anti-drug “DARE” program. Contact Officer Kyle Van Otterloo at the Spencer Police Department.

Monday August 4th: Do It Yourself Club makes door wreaths at 6:30pm.

Monday August 11th: Movie Night features “Heaven is for Real” at 7pm.

Saturday August 23rd: Author Joy Johnson will be talking and autographing her book “The Boob Girls.”

Monday August 25th: Book to Movie Night features “Mr. Chips” Make sure to read the book first, then watch the movie.

Tuesday: Piano by Madeline and 500 Card Game.

Wednesday: Action Club Meeting, Keep it going Exercises, Pass 4 Pinochle.

Thursday: Music by Cousin Jerry, Shape Exercise, Bridge and Nickel Bingo.

Friday: Hy-Vee Bread Giveaway, Keep it Going Fitness Class and Pass Pinochle.
